Fault codes
The resistor you need is a 1/2 w 470 ohm.
Depending on the tune you have at the moment I'd say yes to be on the safe side you'd fit a boost fooler.
But lets get back to the to the P1249, if you have checked the W/G hose for damage and checked the W/G is operating properly and you keep getting a P1249 it's a good bet the WGC solenoid is cactus.
Did you use a multi-meter on W/G harness connector?
Are you still getting the P1249?
Can't find any sign of leaks.
I had a syringe in the tool kit and used that to pull a vacume on
the WG actuator line and it holds fine so it seems there is no
damage to the diaphram.
Removed the solenoid and did some testing.
Without power the solenoid is closed and does not leak.
It shows 30 ohms DC resistance across the coil.
When I applied 12v to it I could hear it switching so I believe it to be functioning fine.
Made visual inspection of the wiring to the solenoid and it is in good nick.
I cleared the code this afternoon, I have to go out tomorrow so I will
give it another dose of WOT and see if the 1249 returns.
You might find that under a WOT run with your tow code selected from your Edge Evolution it may over boost and set a soft code , this could have been happening for a good while.
Try just using your truck for a normal tow run and see if you throw a p1249, i doubt it.
What are tool are you using to scan with?
out to run AE.
I should probably stop being lazy and run AE although I am not
happy about the changes they have made to version 12 of the
program.
Just paid for the licence renewal a couple of months back.
I am going to see if my new code will work with version 11 as
it's much better to use than 12.
Have you read this thread about the version 12 of EA?
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...otto-fail.html
I have the new version Giotto and find it good to navigate around , you will be better off to scan your truck with AE that the Edge, some of the older tuners /scanners don't have the ability to read codes on a PSD.
