Low fuel light
Gentlemen i to had a similar problem with my previous 97- 4.6
expedition. It all started with the same problems running out of
fuel light not comming on soon enough.The remedy i found is not at the fuel tank or fuel sending unit in the tank. But in the dash -
board you will have to remove the insturement pod this is rather
easy.After you have removed the pod you will find a large 24-pin or so connector at back of the guage cluster pod these 24 or so pins are stacked 12 over 12
they are also of a cantalever design. Trace back the fuel/temp/
volt/oil from the back of the thin copper film to the 24-pin connector with a dental pick or tool of the sort work the cantalever pins out just enough for them to contact correctly.
Also before final reassembly of the harness in to the guage pod
apply a thin coat of spark plug boot grease. This problem was solved on my own expidition with this process.
