The caliper moves on two slide pins, when they get gunked up or the lube dries out the caliper won't move properly. Burns up brake pads etc.
Google "Guzzle's 2002 2002 Ford Powerstroke Diesel Caliper Slide Pin Lubrication and Upgrade". I tried to link it but this computer is balking. The writeup shows the fronts but the same applies to the rear calipers.

The dep on the early ones are less I believe. It's hard to see with the eye. Most up date to the late models when changing. This is on the front right?
