Hi

I need to replace the rear brake pads on my 1991 Ford Super Duty.

I took the wheels off and I am not understanding how they come apart. i assume there are a couple of bolts on a carrier and the caliper rides on the carrier, but I an not seeing these bolts. Does anybody know how to do this?

Ford used two clip type pins. Are there pins with metal one both sides with rubber in the middle on each end of the caliber. But I didn't know in 91 they used disc pads on the rear. But look for what I said. To remove you just tap them out.

 

as kermmy said, the calipers are held in with "slide pins"

punch them out, and put new ones in. do not reuse them.
they are cheap and can be bought at any auto parts store.
