No power, help needed

Hi all.
I have a 02 f350 with a 7.3L. I am thinking I am having an issue with the Under Valve Cover Harness. About 2 weeks ago the truck was running perfect, I parked it on friday and went to start it monday and it ran like garbage. I pulled on the connector that goes to the UVCH on the driver side and it pulled right off. I reconnected it and it ran fine. The past weekend I pulled my boat from syracuse to buffalo and it seemed to start to run a little rough on the way back home, this evening it barely runs. There is no SES light. I pulled the drivers side connector and cranked the truck, it fired now and then but no start. Plugged it back in and pulled the passenger side connector and it seemed as if it is running on 2 or 3 cyls. I cleaned both connectors and reconnected them and it seemed to be on 7 cyls and then degraded. It is smoking, I think it is blackish gray. It was fairly dark outside so it was hard to tell. The only mod I have done is the large NAPA filter. It rained hard the whole way to syracuse and back, could I have water built up? My plan is to pull valve covers to do the 50 cent mod. Do you think I am on the right track?

I also let the fuel level get lower than I would ever have normally, the light came on. I am curious if I gummed up the filter with crap?

The Superduty is notorious for problems in the fuel pickup and quick-disconnects in the fuel line. Running the tank that low is an almost sure-misfire way to run into problems. Click the Hutch Mod link in my signature for details. Until you act on that, fuel up to get the air out of your fuel lines.

Tugly,
Thanks for the help, I rolled the truck back off the incline and put 5 gallons in. I started it and it ran like crap for about 30 seconds and cleared up. I then drove it to the fuel station about 4 miles down the road and all hesitation cleared up. I guess I will no longer park on the slope in my driveway and not let the tank get that low again. I think I will do the hutch mod sometime this summer. I will keep an eye on this, I do not want to get stuck somewhere. You know there was a difference between this failure and the one a couple weeks ago. The 1st failure happend with a full tank of fuel, The truck started and ran great until oil pressure built up, ses light came on abd it ran bad. This time it started hard, and ran like crap from the start. Glad its running well, thanks again.
