Okay, so i was driving down the road. Turned around and all of sudden I have no power steering... The fluid is good and I actually just replaced this ps pump 2 months ago.. Also when I hit the brakes they kinda feel weird too like there not working fully or something... Any suggestions would be appreciated.. or should I just start tearing this ps pump off?
OMG not another one LOL Read I hate commi cars post about his adventure withthe PIFA power steering pump. More info on the pump is covered there than you probably really want to know.
On a 6.0 the brake assit[master cylinder] works in tandem with the power steering booster. The power steering booster actually pushes the Master cylinder rod. No vacum booster.
I cant believe no one has not experienced anything like this. I have no power steering or power brakes. No whining noise from ps pump.. please anyone help!
I've read over all the info you posted. Thank you. Yet I still have no idea what would be doing this. I guess I'll just have to replace the power steering pump again! And go from there
We understand your frustration and I know I wish there was a quick and easy answer but there's not.
The rebuilt pump may have failed on its own. Or there may be debris from the old pump that took out the rebuilt pump, or maybe a hose, steering box, or hydrobooster issue that took out the new pump. If both steering and braking are diminished you have to look to the pump.
The way I would proceed would be to drain all the fluid I could into a container and then use a paint strainer to see if any debris are found. I would also install a filter as mentioned in the other thread in the line between the steering box and reservoir as a precautionary measure. Then install the new pump. Unless you are familiar enough on how to open the steering box and inspect it though the cover, and reinstall the cover and get the adjustment back EXACTLY the way it was, this is a trial and error task.

Hopefully it's just a bad rebuilt pump.
I think you have the best cost effective way. The only other way and the price goes up
would be to have a Power Steering Analyzer.
Okay I just like to follow up with everyone since you guys are always so much help. So I replaced the power steering pump with a reman from advanced auto with pully already installed just to find out the shaft was bent and all it did was make the belt squeak... So I decided to go to a junkyard and pull a used orginal ps pump off a 6.0 and things are better so far. So thanks guys.

I can't even find a 6.0 in a salvage yard around here.
