I have a pair of those pliers also use it for the same thing. Not actually what they are meant for but for the life of me I can't remember what they actually are for.
Some type of end nips I think.
I think any vibration that might occuer would be absorbed by the rubber part of the center support bearing and would not be an issue at all.

, I have a couple pair of those Nippers great for clipping Nail's from the Bottom side of Eaves, Horse trimmers, they also work well to pull T-staples out of floors with the rolling action And Finger /Toe Nail clippers for those Hard to get Extra Calcium Nail
