How often do u grease your universals?

Well? I have to grease mine at least once every two weeks. In two weeks at most Ill cover 800 miles, with mixed driving. If I dont I can feel them when I take off. Ive used all kinds of grease, Ford grease, blue, and grey stuff, no difference. Am I still using the wrong kind? What kind do you guys use? Ive never had a truck that I had to grease them as much as I do this one. Me and the grease gun about had it out the other day

My universals don't have zerks, so they've never been greased in 280,000 miles.

Sounds like you need new u-joints.

I never greased the ujoints on my OBS as there were no zerks. on my M35A2 6x6 I grease them about every 3K miles and are pretty easy as they all have zerks

On my EX I do it every time I change oil... 5000ish. On my f250 it has 177000 and still original ujoints so no grease.

Clux, This IS extreemly good news for me since evedentally I have the original U-Joints in my '99 with about 105k on it.

I also agree that the op needs some QUALITY joints-should not HAVE to grease them that often.....

No, You shouldn't get new universals w/o grease fittings on them-IMO the factory should have included the joints WITH fittings, obviously yours are replacements and may not be of good quality or possibly someone has blown the seals by over-lubing them.....

Spicer high performance sealed u-joints (no grease zerk) outlast anything else I have ever tried. Dana-Spicer supplies our OEM u-joints.
