Thanks guys. I was having a bad day when I posted before. I enlisted the help of our 14 yo daughter and we got the engine, trans, transfer case in the other day. Long way to go but closer than I was.
If you're anything like me the fact that the kid was there helping (and hopefully learning something) was as much if not more fun than getting the work done. I realize now that my dad did a lot of projects that he could have easily paid someone else to do as an opportunity to spend time and teach my brother and me. I try to do the same things with my kids now.

It was very relaxing....We rarely get to spend time together since I work nights. We let her take a 'personal day' from school. She spent her time studying, helping me, and then we went to lunch when we took trans jack back to the rental place.
I wouldn't have traded that time for the world....
Good work!! Glad you and daughter got some time together too!
I've done lots of projects with my kids and wouldn't trade that time for anything. There were times I was in a hurry and had to forcefully stop myself from just doing something the kids were struggling with - because THAT is when they are really learning something.
Is that the AC compressor bracket on the lower left side of the engine?

Yes.... Sorry, been off awhile.....Finally got it back together and have about 10K miles on the swap.
LOVE IT!
I've kept the engine bone stock and it gets about 19.5 MPG consistently. Our youngest wants a dually when she turns 16 so I'm keeping my eyes peeled...
Have any better pics of the truck. Looks like it turned out nice. I may be doing a cab swap soon as I rolled my crew on black ice this past week. I found a cab with the 08 conversion already done just trying to decide if I buy that cab if I keep the 08 clip.
Well, its been awhile and ive been under the weather so the project has been on hold. Sound deadener showdown is nearby so I'm going there for my sound deadening which might be a moot point because I bought a 94 5.9 Cummins to transplant today. A complete running 100k engine for 2K. I scored 06 Lariat door panels and 2010 Tan leather back seat of CL. I'm on the hunt for some KR buckets for the front....
Did you buy some kind of integration kit to marry up the Ford PCM to the Cummins? And have you had to do any tricky conversions to make it all work together? I suppose the ZF-6 eliminates the transmission problem.
By the way, congrats on accomplishing such a monumental task. The reward for not buying a newer truck, no need to pull the cab for mechanical work!

I'll post some up. If I had to do it over I probably wouldn't. I'm not very happy of how it turned out close up. I'm still searching for a 08-10 dually for my next project.....Swap a CR into that.

I used DCS parts and instructions. Not that difficult really, just pricey. A lot of folks have trouble with the wiring, I found that aspect to be the easiest.
Interesting to note...When I stripped the original 7.3 harness I found several wires had been chafed bare by the black plastic loom. I suspect those could be culprit for the intermittent miss I had when the humidity was high.
Three control wires going to that engine. Gotta love simplicity!
