Engine Swap 292 To 429 2v Medium Duty

I have a 1959 FORD C600 (C.O.E.) with the original 292. I want to swap it out for a medium duty 429 I've had for some time.
I'm looking for information on the availability of a bellhouse adapter and any required clutch parts.
Anyone with knowledge and or experience that wouldn't mind sharing would be greatly appriciated.
Thank you, James Rogers

Engine Swap 292 To 429 2v Medium Duty

Welcome to FTE!

I was actually reading a tech article on Custom Rodder's website the other day, and it was about mating different transmissions to different engines. This article has alot of info in it and the use of adapters for different engine/tranny combos. Here's the link to that page:

http://www.customrodder.com/tech/0307cr_transformation/

If you scroll to the bottom, you'll see the list of all the companies making different adapters that might help you out! Hey post a pic of that big truck! I wanna see it!

Could you use mounts from a later model C-cab? I think a few had the industrial 429 engine which could at least get you mounts. Again for the tranny try one of the later model ones. If not you might still be able to get tranny and related parts from another big truck. Let us know what tranny u got in it right now. -4speed

It has the original 4 speed however, I have not discovered which 4 speed it is. I'm going to crawl under tonight to find out. I thought it may be simpler to find a source of later model C cabs for parts. A 370 2v and 5 speed was used starting in '73 I believe. Know any medium duty truck salvage yards in Texas or close?

A lot of the mid - late 60's bell housings had the big and small bolt pattern. My scattershield is also duel bolt pattern. Just measure the input shaft length and make sure it will index into the crank.
