429 medium duty engines
I have a guy wanting me to replace a 429 out of a mid 80's f600 dump truck with something with more power. I was thinking of a 460, I have a good one that is rebuilt out of a mid 70's lincoln, but am not sure it will hold up. That dumptruck is heavy, and he runs it hard, are the bottom ends in the industrial 429's stronger than the standard motors, at least enough to make a difference? Are the industrial 429's the same as the 429's used in cars in the late 60's, early 70's or is it a different design.
