Damn intercooler

I hate the intercooler boots. I literally just left the shop. Didn't get 20 miles and the boot blew off the turbo. Any permanent solution to this?

First off verify it isn't over boosting.

A few tips:
1. They have to be very clean on install. No oil at all. Wipe them out with a solvent on a rag.
2. If using the factory boots, move them around a little and find the ridge on the inside of the boot, you can feel when it's lined up with the ridge on the turbo etc.
3. If it's not a new boot, try to align the clamp in exactly the same position it was previously. Many times you'll find the the factory clamps are stapled in position on the boots for this reason.
4. Skip the torque wrench. Tighten the crap out of it. Connections at the CAC maybe a little bit lighter than the rest as the plastic is kind thin there.
5. Give it a couple of warmup-cool down cycles before romping on the throttle. It does "stick" better the longer it's in place.
6. A liberal coating of hair spray can make it stick sooner. Just spray the inside of the boots and try to slide it on quickly before it drys for best results.
7. Aftermarket boots ar made from a stickier sort of rubber (more silicone?) and have a little bit better track record for staying in place.
8. Some of the connections have room for two clamps. I run two on the connection to the CAC under the air filter because I got tired of putting it back on on the side of the road after some repairs.

Hope some of that helps.

Put these on and never worry again. BD Power - Product: Hose & Clamp Kit

No need for hair spray or glue, clamps are much stronger than stock also.

I just installed the riffraff boots on my truck a few days ago and have seen 28psi about a dozen times since then. The boots are quite a bit thicker and seem to grip better. I reused the stock clamps and the new boots are doing great.

Don't do that. Go out and buy the cheap stuff like Aquanet.
Make sure both sides are clean and free of oil. If you have
stock boots make sure that the bead falls into the grove
of the pipe.
