Using BB's to shim pressure springs is common in Deere and CAT engines.
I would reckon a BB would make you nervous when remanning a $60k engine then huh?
BB increases the spring rate and has no effect on flow.

i have an 06 and i still had the "weaker" spring. i changed mine and it holds around 57 most of the time and i also changed my olds mans in his 04, not sure where his is at because he doesnt have any gauges....
