After reading the article for which you provided a link, I note that the developer had to give away (oooops, "donate") the better portion of his land to get his project approved. He had 58 acres, of which he had to give away 48 of 'em.
Isn't that a little like public officials taking a bribe?
Anyway.....
For what are the poles, cables, and guy ropes used?

Seems I'll have another 48 acres to hike. Didn't
the Edge do the same for his casa by the Malibu sea?
Guy lines are for the USA flag. Not flying today and I forgot to bring one to hang up there.
