Ultimate Shock thread - Comparison
I've search and found a hundred threads on shocks, unfortunately, they are very hard to short through given the number of people who just respond by saying the shock they use or prefer with no additional information on why.
So I'm creating this poll to help sort through all the info and preferences.
The poll is to outline the reason why the most popular shocks might be purchased and used by members.
Feel free to post the shock you use, if not listed. If you do, please fill in the blanks on how you like them.

I have Bilstein 5100's on my front end and Pro Comp ES9000 in rear. The shocks on the truck were blown when I purchased it so these made a huge difference everywhere. If I were to do it again it would be the Bilstein 5100's all around or the Rancho 7000's all around as they are supposed to be similar in performance.
Here is a good thread on shocks as well.

I have run 5100's on the following..
(2) F150's
Hummer H3
2004 F250
I liked them but they do, how should I say it, firm up the ride a bit IMO..
The 2011 I just bought used has a Ready Lift leveling kit w/Pro Comp's....I can't get that garbage off my truck fast enough...The ride is terrible..
I have inbound a Carli Back Country w/Fox shocks...I am really looking forward to trying the Carli w/Fox..
On my 1999 F150 Lariat I put Rancho's on I can't remember the exact model but they were adjustable...On the softest setting they were plenty stiff..

RS5000(X)'s are just an all around great shock.
RS7000MT's are going to be a firmer ride, but not as firm as other monotube shocks. We don't have as high a gas charge on them. Some people like the firm/responsive feel of them, while others do not. Also our valving will be different too.
RS9000XL adjustable, my personal choice for the 250/350 platform, for the simple reason they just work. I don't tow as often as I used to, but being able to crank up the rears just help all around.
Also rebate time too on these shocks!!
