I have the JBG superflex Deaver 5" lift on my '77 F150, and the Deutchtech shocks it came with are garbage. They fade almost immediately on washboard roads and its like I don't even have shocks.
This truck has the stud style upper mount, and uses the same shocks front and rear.
I'm looking for some good quality external reservoir shocks to replace these with, as I use this truck and would like a more controlled ride in the dirt.
Fox doesn't list anything for trucks older than about 2000...
Are reservoir shocks even made with the stud style upper mount, or do I need to redo my shock mounts to have any hope of finding a set that fit?
I would measure the ride length of the shock you need and call tech support for all the manufacturers of external res shocks. I was able to find a shock for my application on my powerstroke by doing that even after the guy at Rancho said they didn't have anything for what I needed.
Take measurements for what you need and call Downsouth Motorsports. Tell them what you are putting them on and how you are using it and the they will valve them for you. Spring rates will help them if you can find them. I have the same kit in my garage getting ready to go on my bronco but I didn't order the shocks. I'm going to run dual shocks up front with a hoop so I can get more travel with my duff arms.
