2006 F-350 Dually w/6.0 Power stroke. For the last year I have been battling stuck injectors at 96K miles. My Edge tells me it's two injectors, both on the same bank.
Before I start hauling a 5th wheel this year, I've decided to tear down far enough to get those out and polish the spools. Since I'm not real young and sporting two knee replacements, I would like to keep this chore to a minimum. I've already decided to take the front wheels off and drop the front of the truck down so I'm not working off a step stool.
Question is: Am I just risking a visit from Murphy by not polishing all injectors? At 96K I'm a little surprised I'm having this problem. I run Rotella® T6 and have tried Hot Shot Secret and Sea Foam with no look. Considering I keep changing the oil in between trying a new additive, this hobby is getting expensive.
Thanks for your sage advise.

What codes are you getting? I don't think stiction will give cylinder contribution codes, if you are getting contribution codes I think the injector needs to be replaced. I could be wrong but hopefully Josh ( bullitt 390) or one of our resident techs will chime in.
One of the best things i can advise is either one of the creepers that you can raise up and lay on. If you do not want to invest in one of those grab a set of the foam flooring that lock together they are around $20 at lowes and Menards. Lay them down on top of the radiator and engine. Most of the stuff on this motor i find myself laying across the front to reach without so I'm not killing my back.
If it's just stiction you are better off with Archoil 9100 then anything else.
I'm getting up there too and laying over this truck ain't my thing. Doing turbo, oil cooler injectors, or anything more then an hour and I pull the radiator and fan components so I can stand on the steering link and work comfortably. I now can do that pretty quick.

Oh ya, forgot, that's in there now. Expensive stuff but it didn't do anything for me.
My Edge programmer is tell my 1 and 3 are not contributing. If i leave the house cold i can't get up to speed and people get behind me. After it warms up, it's pretty zippy but still kicks the fault.
Have you checked your injector wire harness for chaffing? With that low of miles and keeping up with maintenance it seems early to me that you would be needing injectors.
Fuel pressure is the leading cause of injector failures. Polishing spools is more for start-up stiction, if I was taking injectors out I'd be putting OEM remanufactured in. After checking the fuel pressure and making sure the upgraded fuel pressure regulator spring had been installed.

I haven't checked fuel pressure, not sure on that but thought it was ok cause I can floor it with a big fifth wheel going up a steep hill right up until everything starts yelling "Hey stupid, your melting your pistons!" without any hesitation. I had a fuel leak where it always leaks and put in the new spring then.
I do get rough idle when I first start cold, then when warm it settles down, but every once in a while it goes back rough. The Edge fault reader when cleared comes right back to same two cylinders not pulling their weight.
Next time you change the lower fuel filter, grab a can of carb cleaner and spray the water separator out at the plug. I did mine for the first time and the truck is definitely running better. May help you also as it symptoms sound similar. If your a FX4 you may want to rig an extension on the spray can's straw so you don't get carb cleaner in your armpit. Shrink tubing like you use on wiring worked well for me.
