I just changed my oil and added HSS to try and cure what I believe is a "stiction" issue. If it doesn't work, what is the going rate for new injectors on a per injector scale (if there is such a thing).
I have not had any CEL codes, so if it is injector issues, how can the dealership tell? I will give the oil additive time to work before taking it in, just curious as to the cost!
Thanks in advance to anyone with info.
the dealer, and a good diesel shop can tell just how much % each cylinder is contributing, if there's a misfire, and give you a very accurate report on what is necessary; money well spent and saved over throwing parts at it until is works.
Thanks guys. So as I understand it, injectors may not throw codes, but can still not be performing right. From other things I have read, It could be any number of other things. Ill take it in.
Thanks for the replys.

Same problem i had thought i lost an injector.I to ordered HSS.But found my problem before it showed up.
Look at #5 injector connector.Second from rear on passenger side remove the plug and look at the pins to see if you have a pour connection.Mine had a Black pin from bad connection.
Had a vacume pod of some kind resting on top of it.
I zip tide it out of the way and took a exacto nife and lightly scraped the pin and took a small drill bit and cleaned out the hole for the pin.
And it fixed my problem.
if you get it tested and most or all are failing it may be time to think about upgrading to some bigger sticks while your doing it. my 90hp injectors + SCT =
If indeed it is the injectors, and they tell me which ones, are they difficult to replace should I decide to do it myself? I am takeing it in tomorrow morning to have it diagnosed.
Since the original question was cost, I paid around $400 per which included a $60 returned core credit. And although according to the tech only one was really bad, he had to replace 4 because he couldn't get an air seal on the other 3 when he tried to reseat them. This was at the local Ford dealer and since the truck was dead, well, I was at their mercy. Here's hoping he fixed whatever caused the one to go bad because we head out on a 2000 mile trip in just a few weeks.
Took it to the dealership today. #1 injector was bad. They replaced it, and suggested that they clean the turbo too. I said ok, and had them also flush the coolant since it had 112K miles on it. Altogeather along with the diagnosis, bill was 1559.00. Truck seems to be running fine now. The true test will come in the morning. BTW, turbo fart still present, but not as bad. I have stock air cleaner on it, and it was very noticable. Not so much now.
