I dont like having to post, due to its probably already talked about, but I should get my truck back tomorrow and I dont have time to read the endless info on this Great site.
My truck decided not to run well (starting, shakes etc), so I take it in to a good shop, and they said I have two back injectors. ($250 ea) 2 and 6 I believe. but anyway I was wondering what I should be looking for or Hearing from the shop. two new injectors, GP are good. GPR is also good, but runs not so hot when cold, but good when it is warmed up. Has codes, but that was from a Quadzilla module. that is in the mail due to warranty. and I don't think I am going to put it back in. but I am keeping the COmmander for the gauges.
hope that makes sense and I hope i didn't waste post space on some thing that is probably already answered in this Encycolpidia of info (spelling and beer) =tired
thanks ahead of time
ps, its a 2000 F350 with 150K on the clock.
Bought the truck used with 146k on it, the SHop did say the Low sulfer stuff is helping his business on injectors. it used to be one every few months, now its like 2 a month. now that I know that I know of two or three stations that still sell the older stuff. I also use additive cause its winter time. if that low sulfer stuff is SOO bad for the older trucks a lot of folks are screwed. but that is just an opinion. it threw codes for the injectors, and once it cooled down he was going to check the ICP or some thing like that. course if that is bad ,its even more money than the injectors.
boy when it rains it pours. there goes any christmas gifts. lol
All I can say is: it runs good when warmed up, but shakes when it is cold. Big Hmmmmm. Heat may or may not cure the injectors but I don't know. Since there is a code for them, I have to reserve comment but I would not think they would perform better after warming up. I hope they fix you up because it could be a lot of other things, including injector Orings, or even faulty HPO check valve for all we know. Good luck.
course not, there at teh shop.
the three codes were from the Quadzilla module I HAD in before it broke and was sent back. new one coming. but there were also two other codes, that were the injector codes. I will have them tomorrow adn can post them then. course that is after a $700 bill. the shop has a good reputaion, its just the Dec time frame and traveling time that hurts the pocket book if you know what I mean.
I will get those codes and post them later.
I might have been here long enough, but still a virgin Diesel owner and am pretty much retarded when it comes to the mechanics of the engine. I am also converting it to run Veggie once I get it back. so it needs to be running like normal. I dread the writing of the check part. parlty cause they have had it for three days and me being out of shape riding my bicycle to work in teh snow just brings back the college days of not owning a car, but I was either hung over, or still drunk. hmmm Memories. ok that is off topic, sorry

Enough said on that, I fully understand that. I'll drink to that. Man, that has to be absolutely brutal, cycling to work in Montana. Uggghhh. Shiver me timbers.
Previous owner had an injector replaced at 70k on my rig. I don't think it is so uncommon. Might be sucking air somewhere. I'll quite guessing now and let more knowledgeable people help.
Maybe the injectors are dirty. On my wife's MB, 1 out of 6 were dirty. I found that out when I took them in for a test. They tested all of them. 1 failed and was disassembled to be cleaned because of a poor spray pattern and low pop off pressure. One cleaning later and the car is running better. The service for testing and cleaning and retesting that injector was $70
Got those codes, and its out of the shop. runs better, but there is a slight Hammering like sound, that I dont recall. but it is a diesel
Codes for the injectors are
PO2722
PO278
price $400 each, but comped the $150 core fee. so $250 + install was $224. dam it sucked right before Christmas.
So for the guys that wanted the codes there you go
