We brought this home last Friday...March 1st. First ever 5ver, first time I've ever towed a 5ver. Things went well on our 400+ mile drive home from Southaven, MS back to the Knoxville, TN area....
Both family members approve of the new digs.....
Dayyum! That's a monster. Go big or go home, eh? Congratulations on the new trailer.
The first pic was our first rig. We have now upgraded to a F350 and the Pinnacle 36KPTS is on order and will be here in May. The second pic of the 5th wheel is one almost like the one we have on order...

The boss said she wanted a bigger trailer for being able to spend more time in it when we are retired. She's been retired since Oct. 2017, and I'm about 13 months away from hanging the tools up. Our previous Toy Hauler was a very nice one, but having 10' of garage on a 34 1/2' trailer didn't leave as much living space as we wanted. Subtract the bedroom from that 34 1/2' and the garage, and it was just a bit too cramped.....so when she said that we need to start doing some looking, I just about choked her on heel dust I moved so fast.
First time, and it's huge! Good deal! Super nice setup, enjoy.
I probably should have clarified just a bit. I've been towing trailers of various sizes since I was 16 years old and I'm now 64.....so a lot of trailer towing experience, just nothing that big or never a 5ver. I was pretty nervous, I'll admit it, but it turned out well and I love the way the 5ver tows behind the truck.....smooth, straight, and zero movement even when the big rigs blow past me.
Didn't mean any offense. I figured that you had some tow experience. It's definitely bigger than my little fifth wheel. Mine would fit inside of that one!

Oh, I didn't take any offense. I'd be the first to admit that my stomach was churning the whole drive over there (8 hrs one way) and then after the PDI and the paperwork was done, it was time to have them assist me with hooking it up (showing me how really). When I backed up to that thing and got out so the PDI tech could walk me through the hooking it up properly.....I looked up and at the size of it and I remember thinking....OMG....what have I gotten myself into here. It's kind of funny now, but at the time, not so much.
Great looking toyhauler Xrated!! Looks like 3 AC's on top which is a good idea. What size generator and gas tanks??
Thank you Don...I appreciate that. Yep, three A/Cs and the center one is a heat pump too. I like the idea of that for those evenings/nights that you need some heat, but it's not terribly cold requiring a furnace. It's got the standard Onan 5500 Watt genny and there are two 30 gallon fuel tanks. One is for the generator and the other one has the pump handle on it. I guess if you got in a bind though, you could pump gas out of that tank and into the generator tank. I'm somewhat relieved to be away from the Cable slides too, although once I got mine adjusted and the adjustment locked down, I really didn't have anymore issues with them. You may remember some of my posts over on the Keystone forum about my slide woes right after I bought it and brought it home. Anyway, the modding starts tomorrow....got a Progressive EMS to put on, then the TPMS system, then I'm switching the single 12V to my Trojan 6v GC batteries. That should get me a start on things to do!
Xrated...I had the cable slides on the 371 Fuzion we had and I didn't like them. I do miss the extra 1/2 bath and the generator we had..also a 5500W Onan gas powered. I only had a 20 and 30 gallon tanks but that was enough to keep the generator satisfied for a few nights. With the 2nd door its also nice to access the rear if you want to nap overnite provided no toys in the rear. Beautiful trailer and once again congrats!!
Very nice rig Xrated!!! Saw a unit very similar to yours at a dealer near us. Beautiful!!! Funny you talk about the cables slides as there is a thread going on in the RV forum now about wanting to convert the Schwintek slodes to cables as they are much more reliable. I've found the opposite to be true. I think most people do not hold the IN button long enough on the Schwintek slides long enough to make them sync each time when closing. Of course though, hydraulic main slides are awesome!!

Thanks golfmedik....we are still kind of pinching ourselves every time we look out the back door and see it out there.
I had trouble right off the bat with the cable system on mine....within the first 10-12 times running it in and out. I blame BAL/Accu Slide for not putting actual lock nuts on the adjuster rods. No matter how well they are adjusted after Keystone or whoever installs the slide room, if that adjustment isn't locked down, it's going to get out of adjustment sooner or later....mine was sooner rather than later. I downloaded the maint. manual for the slide system and studied it carefully until I felt confident that I could make a proper adjust myself, instead of going to a dealer. As soon as I started adjusting the cables, it dawned on me, there was no good way to lock it down when I was done. They actually put a small cube of foam on the end of the adjusting rod and over the nut....and that was supposed to hold it in place! REALLY??? That was about the most chicken-***** thing I've seen in a long time. Since the adjusters are 1/4-20 thread, I simply went to my bolts/nuts storage bins and grabbed 16 1/4-20 nuts and installed on on each adjuster after I got done with the adjusting of both slides. Spin them on, use two wrenches....one to hold the adjuster nut and one to tighten the added nut and jamb it into the adjuster nut......LOCKED DOWN. After that, I never had another issue with the slided getting out of adjustment or doing anything other than operating like they should. I really didn't even have any cable stretch over those two years of use. It's a decent system, but there are a few things like that, that should be corrected by BAL/Accu Slide. And REALLY....Foam blocks to lock the adjustment down...REALLY??? It would be laughable if it didn't cause such serious problems. Another thing that always kind of bothered me was that it always sounded like the motor was working it's tail end off to pull the slide in or out....almost like they put the absolutely smallest HP/Torque motor on it, that would work.....and they probably did. Gotta save some money you know. Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble a bit, but it's probably good info for anyone that has an RV with cable slides to read.
After three travel trailers, this is our first fifth wheel. Just picked it up two days ago. 2019 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. With our 35' travel trailer hitched up, we towed at 58'. This combination is 50'. Looking forward to being shorter and more maneuverable.
