I've got a straight pipe and recently I decided to redo the welds. So I cut of the full bent lengthy piece from the back up to where the muffler was.
So right now I've got about two or three feet straight pipe going right under my truck. Now just to stop me from worrying, would taking of the end pipe and leaving half of the exhaust under give me quite a bit of vibration on idle? No vibration in park or driving, but on idle I can feel it in my brake pedal and seats.
Exhausting under the truck instead of behind the truck can setup an echo or vibration when the exhaust hits the truck or pavement. Another concern is the exhaust COULD get sucked up into the window or rear of a long cab depending on where the pipe stops. That is one reason the pipes extend out the back of the bumper.

Thanks. Exactly what I thought but learning, learning 😊 first time truck owner and first time had 1500lbs in bed, thought I hurt it or something if it wasn't the exhaust.
