Ok, I give up!

Trying to slide the dust seals for my drag link over the ***** and they won't go. Tried silicone spray, grease, setting in sun and soaking in hot water. I know there have been previous posts on this, but, can't find them in my searches. Help!

Word used to describe the end of pitman arm were deleted. These seals won't slide over the spherical ends of the pitman arm and steering linkage. Anyone have a trick they use?

Brute force worked for me. I don't remember the details, but they were tight...

I put grease on the pitman arm end then using two hands push the seal onto the end then insert pitman arm into draglink and wrap the metal ends of seal around and clamp with screw. If you try to install seal onto draglink then insert the spherical end I think will be tougher. Can also try using a large socket to push seal on to end of pitman arm. Same goes for steering arm end.

It's been 15 years since I did mine but your post has stirred up old memories - think I left mine sit in the sun to warm up, them massaged them to gently stretch the material before using grease and something like a socket to PUSH them in place. Like gearhead, put them on the ball first.

I used lithium grease and heated them with a hair dryer.

Like hair dryer idea. Found power steering container with funnel like neck. Going to try sliding seal up neck and over pitman arm ball.
