Not a required item.

Best that any of us can do is to get your fuel from a reliable, high volume location.

So reading this thread is this additive you all talk about something I need to run or just a choice you all make? I definitely don't want any issues with my truck and for that matter water screwing up something and me having to fight the dealer to get a problem taken care of.
For a new truck you can get away without running anything for a little bit. The issue really is that you don't know what quality diesel fuel you're getting. We make a few different products that do address some of the issues associated with the inconsistencies of diesel fuel (cetane boost, anti-gel, etc.).

We would be more than willing to send out samples to whoever would like to try them. Our only request would be to post about your experiences afterward. If you are interested, please PM us with your name and address. You can check out some of our diesel items below.

Demulsifier in STA-BIL?

The comments regarding emulsifying vs. demulsifying water are absolutely correct. With today's HPCR systems the last thing you want to do is run an additive that will disperse water. If water is dispersed it can end up exactly where you don't want it - in the injector tips. Since water doesn't burn, it can blow off the injector tips in these high pressure systems.

The best solution is to run additives that demulsify water so that the fuel/water separators can do their jobs. There are a couple of additives out there today that will demulsify water. We make additives under the Diesel Power!® Brand that not only demulsify water but will also help clean the fuel system, boost cetane, and provide anti-gel. You can see more on those products in the link below.

Hi
I checked out your products (from your link) and none of them claim to demulsify water. Which product that you sell demulsifies water? Do you have any tests or comparisons that show how much water is removed?
Thx

I am running it. So far it has been very good. I don't know as that is has extended my regen interval or anything. I don't regen much anyway.

Tanks of fuel seem to be pretty good. So far I am pleased with it.

Very sorry for the delay! We missed this one. STA-BIL® Diesel and our Diesel Power!® line (Complete & Anti-Gel) demulsify water. Let me work with our product engineering department to get you some form of data regarding that process and our additives.

We apologize again.

Have a great day!

chicken or egg situation

install the 300 dollar cp4 disaster prevention kit and you wont have fuel injector and related failure as a result of cp4 problems.......but...upon installing the kit....your warranty is voided.

SO....do you install the kit and have a voided warranty....or...do you not install the kit and have ford tell you they will not cover water in fuel related damage.

Some will nag and tell you to use the search function, some will nag if you search and bring up an old thread.

Having had the cp4 failure & the go around with Ford & insurance company the answer is install the kit.
