been putting my truck back together.i had the engine running, then i switch the wire harness for the alternator because the alternator wasn't charging.then it wouldn't start at all, just crank and crank,no spark.so i switched the wire harness back and it still wont fire.so i replaced the magnetic pick up in the distributor. still no spark.i have power to the cap,and coil.just no spark..any idea what could cause this??
First, what are we dealing with? I would assume a stock Duraspark II or is it aftermarket.
Are you saying you replaced the pick up coil in the distributor or the reluctor?
Usually a no spark condition can be traced to a bad DS module. It's much less common for the pickup coil to go bad.
took me a few days,to find out it was just out of time...but i had checked for spark every way i could.it really wasn't getting a spark at all.and yes its just a duraspark something??? im going to go with the MSD setup.after i get a brand new,500 dollar, center force stage 2 clutch kit.too accommodate the edelbrock ,cam, lifters, intake, and soon to be a edelbrock 650cfm carb
