What is the difference between an IDI turbo injection pump and a standard IDI 7.3. I was reading it just has a fuel screw for more fuel for the turbo. Correct or incorrect ?
"right pump" nothing. My RD2-110 is nowhere near stock - 4K+ governor, 110CCs peak fueling, flat fueling curve and other improvements. It's better, certainly, but almost exclusively in the top end(2800-4000) where the other pump would defuel as designed.
There's very little difference between Stanadyne RD2 models; just tuning. Aftermarket modded pumps, however...
when you put a RnD pump on it,,your butt dyno will pop the glass out the meter...
The R n D pump makes that big of a difference ?, I have a 94 T with the exhaust crimp, that will need to be fixed. Am I better off with new injectors or going with his rebuilds.
I have just installed a old banks unit on my 6.9. We think the injector pump is bad runs for 5 min and dies. Do I need a bigger one if replacing ? Can you steer me in the right direction. Thank you Ron

If you're going to wait on shipping I suggest pumps, home of the RD2-110. You have to decide if you have the money to buy a performance pump. If it's in the budget, take it, all you'll look back on is the rest of us stock pump IDIs
Yeah, pretty much. Except when towing, there's little difference... but it is satisfying to rev it way up going up a hill accelerating from 0-50. Sounds /loud/ and is awesome.
Towing... well, you need as much power as you can get.
I'm sure that if I could get some real turbo pressure in the 1300-1800 range, that 110 pump would really shine -- I have to keep my foot out of it to prevent smoke and not overfuel.
