I haven't driven the panel much the last couple years because I'm hoarding new parts for the one I'm building now for lack of space to store them. Took the panel out a couple days ago and carted all the stuff with me...lol
You know, John, you can just ship that panel down here, and I'll be sure to drive it for you.....
If I remember correctly you used EZ-wire harness. But I think you went with vintage air. I just purchased an old air product. I’m just curious on how you wired yours.
The EZ wire harness has a black wire that goes out to the compressor so I’ve hooked that up. And then there’s a black wire also underneath the dash that I’m assuming runs to the control panel maybe I’m not exactly sure.
I feel like that wire that runs out to the compressor I have to splice in the trinary safety switch. Is that correct? Any help would be appreciated
I haven't started wiring the one I'm doing now which I'll be using the EZwire kit on .It was eight years ago that I wired the pickup so I'd have to dig out the instructions on the Vintage air unit. but I think the wiring harness from Vintage Air controls the A/C compressor and the black wire in the EZwire wasn't used. Vintage Air harness controls the trinary switch to the electric fan....
Hey John. Looking back at the way you did your glove box with those extended hinges. How did you get them to work? I’m looking at extending mine, but I just don’t see how it’s gonna lineup properly. If I make them longer than when the door closes, it’s gonna be higher. What am I missing or not understanding?
The arch of the hinge is slightly different than the original, slightly stretched arch. I had to play with it a bit to work but both the pickup and the one I'm doing now work fine.
I'll look tomorrow if I still have the pattern I made, if so I'll contact you and get your address and send it to you..
John,
I have your hinge mod earmarked for my truck as well. I don't know if it can, but if some type of pdf or something could be attached or a link to the template your looking for could be accessed I bet there are several of us who would use it. I know, more work with all you got going but I know I would appreciate it tremendously.
Thanks
Thanks John.
I was thinking these replaces the arc and still bolted in. But after studying your pics some more you got rid of the factory hinges all together. That’s why the piano hinge, wish I had figured this out before painting hahah. Oh well it can still be done. I will have to find a piano hinge or something similar
