Accelerating Problems

Hey new to diesels just put cold air intake on it ran fine after I put it on for the first couple rides now when accelerating it sounds like its sputtering or I'm pulling an elephant until get it past 2 thousand rpm or about 40km then goes back to normal any ideas what it could be ?

Its probably a coincidence but sounds like the EBPV is sticking.. Im pretty sure thats what your talking about.. Use the search feature, youll find a bunch of write ups on it..

You can disconnect the ebpv. There is a 2prong plug along the driver side valve cover going to the turbo.

So unplugging that will fix the problem and any set backs to that ? How expensive is it to fix it ?

it will not really "fix" your problem. It will only tell you if that was/is the problem

If that's it most people leave it unplugged. All its for is helping the motor warm up in real cold conditions. Lots of guys up north here unplug them too.

So it doesn't matter to leave it unplugged dopesky hurt any thing

Alright I looked into it just ended up unplugging my air temp sensor and solved the issue guess the sensor doesn't like being in the open with the new air box

Both of my trucks have the ATS in the open with no issues. I fact, without it the PCM doesn't know the air temp so it can control some functions, what I don't know.
