My EBPV on my 96 did this really weird thing on thursday night- I assume it was trying to close too much, but when I was going down the road. Sounded like a 747 taking off through my stacks...LOL. It only happened on a steady medium throttle and would go away immediately if you either let off the pedal or stomped on it. Also, it only did it one long trip (150 mi round trip) and hasn't done it since. Is this a common issue and what's an easy fix? Will unplugged the valve eliviate the problem? I plug it in everynight so I'm not worried about cold weather starts, I work at home so it doesn't sit 8 hours in the cold unplugged.
Yes if you unplug the valve soleniod that is located on the intake side of the turbo it will no longer do what its doing. You will never know its gone other than it won't sound like a 747 any more!
