2006 F150 2X4 CC; I am having problems with throttle sensitivity, it's just when taking off from idle. When taking off it's gives too much throttle, not capable of smooth takeoffs. Any ideas like reprogramming or what parts to replace?
i have this too on my '07, where no matter how smooth and linear i depress the throttle it seems like the throttle body is opening on it's own terms. being drive-by-wire i am wondering if the butterfly or mating surface on the bore is dirty; i have a can of TB cleaner waiting for warmer weather and some free time to pull it out and inspect/clean it. i also have a intermittent-in-intensity miss at idle (have addressed the usual miss-at-idle suspects already).
My 05 - 5.4 does this some times. I also notice that sometimes if I just barely tip into the throttle it will surge lightly. I suspect a good cleaning of the intake throat and throttle blade will cure it.
Good Luck Guys. My 04 Lariat 4X4, 5.4 Drive by Stupid Wire has done the surge since new. It is intermittent so naturally when under warranty the dealer could not detect it. The dealer here on the Big Island, Hi. said its probably in the ECU. Not really a problem most times unless you are trying to be exact with the throttle like backing up to a Big Boat trailer or like that. I just live with it. HOWEVER, if one of you guys finds the fix I'll try that too. A Big Aloha to ya, Renzo
