Glad I just found this post. I was screwing around with my CTS today and I get "..." for a EBP sensor reading. My truck is an 04. I was getting ready to buy a new sensor but I would of been a waste as well

Glad I could help, yeah that was a $100 bill wasted
I had the same problem with my 04. CTS said 0 EBP, cleaned the tube and bought a new sender, still read 0, but I did not have access to any local high end scanners. So same thing, $100 bill lost.
But I'm still learning about this beast called the 6.0.
I had a buddy with an expensive Snap on scanner check it.
At idle it was 16.8, while driving it hit as high as 41 psi under heavy load.
Seemed give or take in the mid 20's under general speed / throttle .
It appears to be very close at idle w MAP and was pretty close under load/ at speed.
While I am happy it's functioning and am safe to say it is probably not really effecting mpg, I am disappointed that the Cts didn't pick it up thru the obd2 like the snap on one did and I spent 92 on the sensor unnecessarily.
That scanner was unable to see what "flash or version or software" or what have you that my truck is running.
I'm heavily considering buying a ficm tuner to get a little more upon the bottom end and hopefully mpg as well.
My vehicle was a one owner and heavily maintained by the dealership previously. I can only assume it has that crappy flash.
The Snap On scanner should of given you the info on the strategy you have. You need to look under the (basic) OBD2
stuff.
If you had access to Ford IDS with a VCM2 this is what you would see there.
Hi all, Im running into this same situation, however I'm throwing a p0069-MAP/Baro but the BARO is always reading 14.5 + or - a few and MAP numbers seem to be reading good. I did a VGT relearn last night, and that's when I got the codes and ever since has been dumping boost while driving. I suspected the EBP before doing the relarn and replaced it. I too have a CTS insight II, and im not getting any reading. I've already wasted money on a new EBP and it didn't change anything. My question would be could an EBP throw that code, or should I'd be paying more attention to the MAP or BARO?
MAP/BARO/EBP all should be about 14.5 with KOEO... that's the barometric pressure at your location and will not change unless a storm comes or you go up/down in elevation.
MAP/EBP will be about 2-4 psi higher at idle and both go up drastically when adding throttle. I've seen EBP at 44 or so.
P0069 is a correlation of MAP/BARO at 30kPa (4.4psi) of difference. Have you looked at both those to see if they are at a 4.4psi difference at KOEO?
It could, but most likely not as the PMC does read that sensor. Just the insight doesn't display it for you to see. Have you contacted the CTS people to see if there's something your doing wrong with programming it. Just doesn't make any sense to buy a $400 unit that doesn't display EBP... Scan Gauge does, its a $150 pile for a code reader!
Thanks for that. Went out side BARO is at 14.4, MAP at 14 with KOEO. Started the truck and turbo spooled then the VGT % went down to 15% which is opposite for idling. it slowly started climbing back up. It also does this when im driving. Do I have a bad VGT solenoid?
