I can't find the post I was looking for but in that particular situation upgradeing the tuners software to the latest version resolved his issue. He did mention that a lot of other values had been changed as well. I think it may have been CTS but not shure.

I agree your CTS is got something set up incorrectly. Try For some support, maybe even search google for edge CTs, EBP reading zero. Try a few searches, see what you find.

Yes as well as the fitting the tube attaches to

I tried autozone last night for a scan, but it was very basic. Today I will try at a real mechanics shop I know.

As, recommended I did some online digging and seen others has the same issue with the CTS. I will check with EDGE as well.

For the best most comprehensive scan use FORD IDS, that is what it was made for Ford vehicles only a few others associated with FORD. Toyota and mazda for a few years.IIRC

I run the Edge Insight CTS and it does in fact read 0 EBP at KOEO but does read around 3 PSI at idle. It has nothing to do with the set-up of the Edge unit as it is a plug and play device, for what ever reason it reports in PSIG and not PSIA so you don't see atmospheric pressure at KOEO like you do the MAP and BARO. Does it change while driving?

You need a scanner that reads PIDs and shows the outputs. A ScanGaugeII does is nicely.

It reads at 0 psi, under any and all key/throttle/load positions.

Thank you for the tip, hopefully I know something this a.m.

Unfortunately, it would not be the first time I've spent 92 dollars unnecessarily....

For info on inferred EBP strategy, use the search "Recall 06E17".

Regarding that recall. I am unsure what "flash or file" my truck is and am unaware how to find it.

I called edge, the recommend updating the tuner which I am now.
He said it can only read what the ecu puts out.

What I don't comprehend is wether the truck has that flash or not does that dictate wether the ecu needs the input of the sensor or not and wether or not the ecu will put out the values of it.

After the update on the Cts I am still getting the same 0 psi results.

Hopefully tomorrow I can make it to shop for a better scan.

I posted the graphics for a training overview of the inferred EBP strategy here(post #19): https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-reader-2.html

It answers some questions but kinda glosses over a big one. It states the EBP sensor is not used and do not replace it unless it is causing a vRef intermittent or vRef short. Then just below that it says to smoke test the exhaust to check the EBP tube for plugging. If the PCM isn't reading it, why would it matter if the tube is plugged? Also, no indication of what the EBP reading should be reported as from the PCM with this strategy. If you notice on the first slide it does say 2003 & early 2004 and 2003 on Excursion.

To get back to your truck, I'm not saying you have this strategy, but it could explain the readings you're seeing if it does have it.

I believe in one of the other discussion on this, one of the Techs said the truck should have a sticker on the FICM, radiator support or door jamb that says something like "modified I/A/W program #xxxxx" if the Tech followed all the instructions. If you see either of the two new Fault codes mentioned (or could unplug something and force one of them?) that would be confirmation. Many diagnostic code readers will report the flash version also, if you had that we could probably figure out if it was "inferred EBP" or not.

I'm hoping I can find what flash I have tomorrow via a high end snap on scanner.

This crap is real confusing to me...

I had a buddy with an expensive Snap on scanner check it.

At idle it was 16.8, while driving it hit as high as 41 psi under heavy load.
Seemed give or take in the mid 20's under general speed / throttle .

It appears to be very close at idle w MAP and was pretty close under load/ at speed.

While I am happy it's functioning and am safe to say it is probably not really effecting mpg, I am disappointed that the Cts didn't pick it up thru the obd2 like the snap on one did and I spent 92 on the sensor unnecessarily.

That scanner was unable to see what "flash or version or software" or what have you that my truck is running.

I'm heavily considering buying a ficm tuner to get a little more upon the bottom end and hopefully mpg as well.

My vehicle was a one owner and heavily maintained by the dealership previously. I can only assume it has that crappy flash.
