I'm back again with a post asking for help with our '05 Expy EB 4x4 143k (aprox) miles.
Yesterday after running errands etc, when I was backing into the driveway (sligh incline) the truck started to loose power, ran rough and sounded a bit like a diesel.
I parked, shut it down and found these codes all pending:
P0022
P0171
P0175
P0345
00349
I read codes, cleared them, started up and ran fine. But when I search for these codes I find alot of posts pointing toward 345 and 349 leading towards the cam phaser on the driver side. But no posts for all of these.
P0345 and P0349 seems to indicate a problem with the camshaft sensor on drivers side. It may be the sensor that is faulty, a loose or bad connector, or bad wiring. P0022 is probably part of this symptom. Before diving into phasers and the other codes, I'd check the sensor and the wiring, perhaps even swap the sensor over to the other side and see if the problem follows the sensor or not. A sensor is easy and cheap to replace, you can do it yourself. The rich/lean 171 and 175 codes may go away once the timing is back in place..
