My 2011 truck is sold and the buying is picking it up Monday, New truck should arrive at the dealer Monday or Tuesday. But I have to wait 2-3 days to pick up while they spray the bed liner, install the leveling kit and put on the new wheels and tires. How will I survive with out a truck this week?
I want to purge all the info in my Nav system. Addresses, and the 25 photos I uploaded. Don't really care if the new owner wants to listen to the music I loaded on the jukebox, that can stay. But I want the photos of my wife and daughters off the system.
Any quick tips on how to erase or reset that info? I guess I get to study the old Sync manuals today.
I would have to look but isn't there a reset to factory option?
Quick edit: Yes see page 159 of the nav manual for a master reset. Or search the pdf document for key words "master reset" with cntrl F
Should wipe phone etc. - but verify.
edit 2: from the nav manual:
The cellular profile, media device index, and development log will remain
in the vehicle unless you delete it and are generally accessible only in
the vehicle when the cellular phone or media player is connected. If you
no longer plan to use SYNC or the vehicle, we recommend you perform
a Master Reset to erase all information stored in SYNC.
It'll be a few more days, They have to spray the bedliner, level the front end, put the new wheels and tires on. Probably be Wednesday or Thursday. I'm going to go crazy not having a truck this week.
Hey, please don't forget to write up a review of your '15 after you've lived with it for a bit. I value your opinion and I am curious what you think. For example: I swear the torque converter locks up much later and more gentle. Drives me crazy. When towing I sometimes think it will never lock up, like driving a dang CVT. As usual, I'm always shifting to M and doing it myself because I hate the way the D patterns are.
