I've had my truck sitting now for about 6 months. I bought a car to commute with and left my truck off the road this winter so it wouldn't get even more rusty. Plus it needed new batteries.
Anyway, its having this odd issue. If you rev it and let of the gas it doesn't like to return to idle. You have to feather the throttle or it will die.
Seems like something in the governor is frozen? It starts on a tap of the key after it does this which leaves me puzzled.
I'm pretty well versed in fueling problems with this truck and its not showing any signs of air intrusion. I'm wondering if i should just run the **** out of it on the highway a little to free up whatever is stuck. My ip has about 15,000 miles on it. I replaced it about two years ago. I got it from a reputable local stanadyne shop.
I would run atf in the fuel filter. To me it sounds like the metering valve is sticking. (I think thats the part I am thinking of) Start it up with atf in the filter, let it run for 30 sec and then let it sit for 24 hours. Then I would take it out and run her hard.
I just replied in the other guys thread with the same problem.
I second filling the filter with ATF, run for 30 seconds, and let it sit.
Fixed the problem right up in my truck when I did that this fall.
