Is the starter from a 1993 IDI the same as the one on a 1994 IDI Factory Turbo truck? I bought one of the planetary gear style starters from autozone and found that they sold me one for a Power Stroke which is to short and the bendix wouldn't engage the ring gear. All the ones they list for the 94 vin K are wrong. If I look at the 1993 starters there is one planetary gear style that looks longer.

Yes, what you're going though is common for the '94 IDI owners. Get your parts for a '93 to avoid confusion.

This is what I had to do. It's the best way to get parts for the 94idit. If you tell them that it's a 94 with a turbo, 9 times out of 10, you will get powerstroke parts.
