ok , I have an 02 scab 4x4 with a 4.6 . I was wondering what older engines if any will bolt up to my tranny ??? you know , something carbureated ?? I am currently aggravated with this "pats" system , I have only one key . and the manifolds are rotted off I was wanting to drop in something that don't have these issues , just wondering if anything would fit ?

really doubt that there is anything that will bolt up to your current tranny from the carbuerated engine generation...pretty sure it'll be a different bolt pattern. If you're really set on going back to carbed engine I'm sure it can be done but you'll prolly end up changeing a whole lot more than the engine and tranny....custom wiring through out. Then there is prospect trying to sell it later when your all tired of it a few years down the road, especially if there is state inspections involved. Not to rain on your parade too much, but it might be better in the long run just to fix your current issues probably cheaper to...just say'n

There are no older engines that will bolt to your transmission. And if you did find one, your transmission would no longer shift. The computer that controls the engine and transmission isn't going to operate the transmission without also controlling the transmission.
I have a Lincoln with PATS. I bought it with just one key. A local locksmith made me a second key and programmed it to work for $45.
