My truck has started to take longer to get it started and it doesn't matter if it's warm or cold. Over the weekend I replaced both the HPOP lines and all four fittings, not because of the long crank time but because I had planned on doing it anyway. They are almost 13 years old so I figured it's about time. Got it all back together and then my crank time more than doubled . In the process of trying to figure out why I found the small red wire on the GPR was really loose, tightened it down and the long crank time is fixed. I was sort of hoping for a bad GPR since I already have a White Rogers(Stancor) standing by. The original OEM GPR is still on it.

If you alresdy have Stanor GPR in hand I would consider swapping it out. Pretty simple & quick to do as you know. Better off doing it at home or in a warm garage than on the road during the winter......
When you replaced your HPOP lines, you introduced air - it will make a long start condition until you drive the air out (about 50 miles). Long starts are most typically ICP, GP, or injector/O-ring issues. If you have a scan gauge/tool, look at your ICP and IPR while cranking - 2200 PSI ICP with 30% IPR is about normal.
also a way to get the air out is to take the oil pressure sensor off the top of the head.. theres almost always a little air that gets trapped up there...u might have to just add a touch of oil into the hole then out the sensor back in.. this may or may not help your long starting issue
Thanks all, I did drive it about 40 miles before I found the loose wire on the GPR. Now it starts so quick I can barely get a cranking reading of IPR/IPC. I just remembered that I have the No Start Programed into my Hydra so I went out and gave it agood crank time and saw a solid 37.6 IPR and around 2250-2300 ICP. It's funny how that loose red wire was causing my crannk times to increase. I did add oil back in the HPOP reservoir before I even tried to start it.
Thanks Again,
Bill
