Hi every one. i have noticed that my truck will crank longer than normall when i park backed into my drive way but it only does it every now and then. does any one else have this issue ? or know what it could be. im guessing an internal oil leak but it starts fine cold or hot. it has me puzzeled.
Nose down and I haven't been able to get #s yet it is intermitant and it's done it twice both time I haven't had my scan gauge on Icp or ipr I will try to get some the next time it does it but with the ae scanner hooked up the readings are good ipr is at 22-24% @ 590-630 psi.
Also the engine has only had about 3000 miles on it scenes the rebuild so I was thinking possibly air in the system but that just seems like a long shot. I woul think the air would be gone by now
Nose up I have heard of others having starting issues, since the seal on the HPOP will allow the pump to drain if it's going out, but nose down likely not. The other thing to keep in mind is what style HPOP you have. That was on the 03 early 04, if you don't have the early HPOP then it would not apply.
I will say if those are cranking readings then I don't think that is so great. Cranking it would be calling for more than 22% and higher ICP readings. If you are talking idle then I think you are right on the money.
I would say when it does it 7-10 sec and usually it's 1-2 and I have the newer style engine so oil talismans pump are all 06 style also yes the readings are at idle my gauge won't turn on right away. I will have to get crank reading if I can get it t do it today. The only o rings / seals I didn't change were the ones in the oil rails. I didn't have the tool at the time to take the nozzles out

It's definitely less than 30sec it's just that it usually is always the same amount of time but the few times it has happened it is long enough to raise the question " Is something wrong " or what is going to go wrong in the near future. I am actually going to pull the valve covers this weekend to do some injector work and so I can check all of the seals in the plugs stand pipes and oil rail
Also I backed it in the drive way a couple of days ago to see if I could get some readings letting it sit for a couple of days but it fired right up. Befor the S.G could Evan get a reading I put went strait to 1400 then went down to normal after it came down to idle. It's still sitting in the drive way. I'm going to give it another try tonight. Also try to get a video. I will post the video Evan if it fires normal so you guys can hear what I think is a normal start and compare it to the bad one if I can get it to do it
