I haven't been able to find this using the search function. I have all new window seals for the roll-up windows in my 79. Are there any special steps I need to follow to replace the window seals? Do I need to pop off the door panel? I'm assuming I don't need to remove the window itself?
Loud,
I've done window (fir/fur?) strips quite a few times and I've never had to dissassemble the door. Take your time. The hardest part maybe getting the old decaying pieces out. Use a small screwdriver to pullout the pieces at the bottom of the window. Be careful, its easy to dent or scratch the edge of the door. Take your time, you only have to do it right once. I usually take the opportunity to clean/paint the inside of the door where your arm has worn away the paint. I'm not sure but, I think that a Ford truck door, with the window down, maybe the best place to rest your arm in the world!
Go figure?

I replaced the passenger side window seals Friday night and I needed the door panel off to place the new seals in the grooves properly. Now my window rolls up crooked, it did before too but now the problem is exagerated, is it possible that the window is undersize or something?
Loud,
Unlikely, the metal track that the fir strip slides into is adjustable. Pull the panel and see if the track is loose or broken. Adjust it and you'll be good to go.
