1989 f150

hi folks, ive been lurking on here for about 2 weeks before i joined to make sure it was worth it. it was. and before im scorned i looke first.

my son 18, has an 1989 f150 saved his pennies for it. the 5.0 motor is going out, the guy told hi it was a new jasper, it wasnt or its junk. anyway hes a good kid so i want to get him a motor for his birthday coming up. what fits with little mod and what is the better of the 5.0 motors. he wants to rebuild and this and that but id like to have a nice one to drop in. this will probably be a used motor swap but id lie to do it right the first time. thanks in advance

Any 5.0 will bolt in just don't try to use any wiring that comes with it. An Explorer 5.0 would be the best followed by the Mustang 5.0, then the '94+ truck 5.0 and then the 87-93 truck 5.0. They put a 5.0 in the early crown vics and town cars too but I'd suggest you avoid it. In all cases except with the truck engines you will have to strip the engine to the bare longblock and put all the parts from your '89 on it.

Not to say your reaction to BruteFord was out of line (and agreeing with you that his response was), but don't paint us all with the same brush. And if you've been hanging around a while you probably know that Conanski knows his stuff, so you got some good info there.

i was not lumping everyone in the same pile, it just happens that the first post i make is ridiculed for spelling and then supported by the net poster. you know fords are all over the world and not everyone speaks or types perfect english. how does that make the site look from a new member point of view.

and yes extreme kudos to conanski, i have seen his input in alot of articles on here. he answered my question in one quick swoop that 2 weeks of searching did not uncover. thanks again

Not really about being funny, it's about readable posts. You come asking for responses but we can't help you if we can't read what your asking. Why would I spend MY time helping you if you can't take the time to re-read for mistakes, fix them, and add some punctuation before hitting submit. It also makes you look illiterate, do you want to look illiterate? If you really are a vet I'd think you'd understand this, presentation is truth.

If you really are missing half your left hand that only means that it should take longer for you to type. Something we would never be able to notice. Submitting what you did is just laziness and disrespect to everyone that must first attempt to read it in order to help you.

I'm very much a Ford enthusiast, I own 6 and if you look at my posts you'll see I volunteer a good chunk of time to helping others on here. But why would I do that for you if you can't even make the effort to write a readable post.

Lastly why is it that you like so many have this combination of pity and threats of violence on the internet? Do you want pity, are you a victim? Are you really saying that you're going to track me down and kick me in the head?

Final point, it worked didn't it, this post is much better written. No capitalization and it's one huge run on sentence but it's readable.

It's one thing to say bonnet instead of hood, prop shaft instead of driveshaft, or reverse adjectives as they do in other languages. It's a hole other thing to show such extreme laziness.

I'd think a post typed in Russian, translated to Spanish and then to English on google translate would have been more readable. Heck let's try.

This is the above paragraph translated from English to Russian.
Это одна вещь, чтобы сказать капот вместо капюшона, поддержать вал вместо карданного вала, или обратный прилагательные, как они это делают в других языках. Это отверстие другая вещь, чтобы показать такой крайней лень.

Then from Russian to Spanish.
Es una cosa que decir a la campana en lugar de la campana, para apoyar el eje en lugar del eje de la hélice, o adjetivos inversa, como lo hacen en otros idiomas. Esta apertura es otra cosa que mostrar una pereza tan extrema.

Finally from Spanish back to English
It is one thing to say to the hood instead of the bell, to support the shaft instead of the propeller shaft, or reverse adjectives, as they do in other languages. This opening is another thing to show an extreme laziness.

Ok maybe not.
