1997 f250 starts cold perfectly fine, once it warms up and I shut it off it wont start. Started off just being hard to start after being warm one day then later that day,it went to being impossible to start when warm. I replaced the ipr sensor, o-rings, and the spot where the sensor is plugged in. I know its getting fuel fine because when I replaced the IPR I didn't refill the fuel bowl with diesel and eventually it filled up after cranking, glow plugs work great, injector o-rings were replaced about 5k miles ago, oil looks good, coolant looks good, I don't know where to look, any help is appreciated, I just want my truck to run right again.
white smoke comes out, cranks fast, and when i unplug the icp it starts... what does that mean?
i have a fuel bowl harness on the way because somehow mine was melted when i pulled my fuel bowl out to do the ipr, but the only wires i saw torn was the fuel filer sensor
is it a big difference in genuine ford and ebay icp? besides $30-$200
Yup. As with many sensors and other parts for these, the aftermarket stuff is between bad and terrible to 'dead out of the box'. There's reasons why you see 'Ford or International only' posted on parts recommendations and it's not because of brand loyalty.
