Thanks you guys have been a great help. Now if I can just fiqure out what modifications are worth doing to a 360 without going stroker

360/390's share the same bore (4.05"), the stroke is different.

360 = 3.50" / 390 = 3.78"

So, all one needs to convert a 360 to a 390, is the 390's crank, rods and pistons.

So a up date for you guys. Did a transmission filter change and got rid of the black fluid put fresh type f. And she drives good. Took her on a ten min ride wear I put gas down lightly and gas down heavy and got up and went . Little slow when I put on it . But she climbs . And no leaks. Filter I needed ended up coming from a 1970 model trans instead of a 1975 is that common. And thanks guys your info paided off a lot . So glad I brought it up in the forum
