Spark Plug Gap
Did some searching in the forums but came up empty handed...
I got myself some new plugs and coils.
Before putting them in I wanted to double check the spark plug gap.
Should I even bother with this extra step? I haven't seen anything in the forums where people talk about checking the gap before installing the plugs.
The plugs I bought are Motorcraft SP-479

I'd check to see they are all the same. I have seen a plug take a shoot in shipping & handling to close it a bit

That's what I was thinking. These plugs didn't come with the paper ring that normally would protect them from landing on the electrode

I believe that they come gapped at .54
Good thing the tool I specifically went out and bought yesterday doesn't have the marking I need.
It only gives me options for .044/0.50/0.60

I always set mine to the recommended spec.Truck gets bad enough mileage without having bad gaps on the plugs.

Stupid question but...
Is there a recommended spec for the Truck or the plugs?

It should be on a sticker in your engine bay.
The spec was posted earlier in this thread.
