keyless entry
If your truck had a key FOB when new, then it has a receiver for the wireless signal. If you don't have a FOB, then your missing the receiver.... If your talking about a pushbutton pad on the outside of the door, the original option was a wired unit. You can buy a new style for cars like 2010 that have a wireless pad that acts like a FOB attached to the door with double sided tape.
I have an 99 xl manual locks and windows. I just wan't power locks with remote so I don't have to use the kay. It is a pain when some rides with me. I have to crawel across to open the passingers side. or walk around. I don't realy need buttons on the inside.
The FOB has to send a signal to a receiver. You have no receiver. I don't know of any aftermarket setup, but could be one. You would need electric motor / solenoid inside the doors on the lock rods, plus several small modifications.
The stuff is actually pretty cheap to buy. You can get 2-4 lock solenoids, a receiver and two remotes for like $35.00 bucks. Check out Amazon....search "Universal Central Door Lock and Unlock Conversion kit for 2,3,4 car truck doors".
