Is there a way to find out if my truck came with keyless entry. Its a 2001 4x4 xlt 4 door 4.0 sohc Fully loaded power everything. If it did is there a way to get a new remote. thanks in advance
If you are asking about a remote for electric door locks, you can get a new remote and programe it for the truck. If you are asking about keyless entry I would think it would have the key pad on the door, just a guess.

Hi Valo. I just went through the same thing as you. I bought a 97 ranger xlt which is loaded. I contacted an outfit on the internet called keyless ride , they supply factory remotes for all vechicles. I asked them how I could tell if I had keyless remote or not. To tell if you have keyless remote entry, you have to turn your ignition from the off position to the on position five times in 10 seconds, without cranking the motor, ending in the on position, if the doors lock and unlocks you have keylees remote. They can supply you a remote for about $50 with programming instructions, which are simple.
dave i tried wnat u said and it worked. Does any one know how to program a remote i have one from my expy i want to use but i have no idea how to program it
1.All remotes must be programed at the same time.
2.Do the eight off to run thing in 10 sec's again. After the lock/unlock happens
3.Press one button on each remote in turn. Up to 4 remotes.
4.Turn key to off.
There are different years/models of remotes and some will work and some don't.
You will just have to try the expl remote.

call your local Ford service man and give him your VIN. He can tell you all the options you have. Find a remote on Ebay, if it has it. I found one for my 94 Chrysler for $1.98 !!!
Was hoping that some1 could tell me how to silence my 2006 Ranger Sport 3.0L V6 keyfob. I don't like the horn blowing after using the keyfob.
Thank you!
