That's a great deal !! Around hear it runs from $1000 to $1500 parts & labor. If they bought all the parts off ebay ($160-$185 ) that's a fairly steep margin....
If I could find someone for that price I'd jump all over it.
I did them once, and the second time I paid to have my mechanic do it because I didn't have the time. Cost me $900 upper and lower both sides parts in.
I got a labor quote for $350 for the ball joints. Pretty good I would say.
HAHA that sounds like my first quote until I said are you sure. Then they started looking into it and it went to $900. The parts alone for one side are $200. I doubt even a pro can do them in 2-3 hours to be able to turn a profit on it.

He specifically said that quote was for labor only.

This is not some unknown mechanic. I have used them for years. I asked if that was for one side or both when I heard the price. Parts are on me. I don't have all the parts prices except for ball joints. I need to see what I should replace while it is apart. A couple of posts earlier listed all the parts there are to replace.
I'd definitely pay someone for that price, its a pretty labor intensive job. I did mine myself and if I could have had it done for that price i would have paid someone too.. Although I changed out everything since all my hardware was pushing 150000 miles on a truck that has 319000 miles on it.. rather than pay a mechanic for all that labor i did the job myself... truth be told it probably isnt much more labor since all that stuff comes off anyways... like brakes have to come off so why not give the guy new brake parts to put back on, shouldnt be any additional labor other than for the bleeding part.
