Back (30+ years ago) when I worked retail automotive, Moog was the upsell and TRW was equivalent to factory grade. Moog really outlasted the other brands in severe use like taxi-cabs (Don't laugh) I'm saddened to read you folks don't think the quality is as it was, I was planning to redo most of my front-end this year with Moog parts and I sure don't want Chinese stuff in my Canyonero. How good are the Ford OE parts?
The biggest problem nowadays is that it's hard to know who makes what where anymore.
From what I've read over the years Moog is hit and miss. Some people have good luck and others see very high fail rates.
On one of the forums I frequent there was a user that was able to decode from a stamp on the Moog ball joints what factory they were coming from and it wasn't the same for all.
One person will sub contract to another person who sub contracts etc,. etc,. and it's hard to keep quality control in check.
I called XRF today to see where their plant was. The guy told me Taiwan. Not big deal to me but I remember reading a thread somewhere that it was in the US.
XRF manufactures in a few different places.
There is an XRF plant down the street from where I used to live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
I remember when XRF used to advertise a "Million Mile Warranty".
I put the XRF ball joints on I'm happy with them up to this point.
If your guy can do them for 3 hours/side I'd let them do it. I got a quote here for $900 for the drivers side upper ball joint.
It took me about 6-7 hours a side to do mine in my driveway my biggest issue was getting them in and out. The press I had didn't really work and I had to mess around with the 30 adapters to get them in and out. I've heard some people claim you can find shops who will press them in and out for $20 each but I couldn't even find anyone willing to do it.
That cool; at 999,950 miles they will pay for parts and labor if you still own it?
Hopefully, it means I will not have to mess with them ever again. Hmm, I would have thought you could have figured that out.... guess I overestimated you. Sorry, wont happen again.
Someone asked if the million mile warranty was still around, so I answered them. Is that not what we are here for?

Good luck with the job!
Dude I wouldn't pay $900 for one whole SIDE to be done. However, I do not know what shops charge where you are.
That's why I did both sides myself for about $400.
I did my own as well. There are some things I do not mind paying others to do (transmission work and electrical issues) but stuff I can easily do, I like to do it.
