Mountain between the Ocean and I, but a big river 600 yards from the front door. It has an awful big hole in the ground to fill up before it gets to us though.
Big concern is that I have hauling to do today and am too lazy to tarp and un-tarp, fold tarp and put away tarp.
Cold and flu bug still hanging on here. Wardens pneumonia seems to have broken up. Must be some kind of cyber bug the way it is spreading through the chapter.

This upgrade is for you then. I did it to my 83 4.9 when I put the big cam, and the 4bbl holley with the headers. Ran like a totally different truck.
Uses your stock distributor and coil, gives you 40,000 volts, and gets rid of the durrajunk.......er durraspark

I am convinced this is fuel related though, none of this stall problem existed before all the carb work, just high idle that could not be brought down.

For the record... Don's side of the state has far fewer rules of the BS variety than the wet (west) side. We HAVE emissions testing on all passenger vehicles and light duty pickups. Like Sunshine said they go back to '76 for testing. Luckily, since my truck is a 1 ton and its diesel I'm exempt from testing. But the two other diesel cars have to be tested.

The catalytic converter on the 84 became non-existent in 1985!
