Does this part exist?

I had no taillights on my truck when I got it. But I had this bracket in the parts box that came with it. It mounts on the left rear side of the frame and supports the left taillight and license plate frame.

I would like to use it on the truck, but I want a matching bracket for the right side. Does such a part exist? I can find neither in my Parts books.

Could have been an aftermarket part, but it does look Ford'ish.

Is it an illusion, or do I see numbers stamped/cast into it at the right in the picture? I could swear I see 77- (upside down in the pic).

It's got a Ford part number stamped into it.

The part number is there. I looked it up and the books show the standard brackets for a pickup with a bed, not a flatbed. So, as with many other things, the part numbers for like parts are the same except for the prefix.

And like for so many other parts which are uncommon because it's for a flatbed, they are not shown in the parts books.

What's the part number? I have parts catalogs going back to the 1948 issue. I think I also have the "Green Bible" parts catalog. This part may have been used on earlier than 1948 trucks.

OK, I lied.

The part number for the left side bracket IS in the Text Catalog, but not in the Illustrations Catalog.

The number stamped on this part is 77 13469 - B

And I believe turn signals and right side taillights were options in 1951, so I would think there would be a matching right side bracket. But I can't find it.

Check with Mack Hils. He had several odd tail light brackets available at one time.

Yes, I've already been in contact with Josh about that bracket. He found one for the left side, but not the right side.

I'm glad to see they do exist. I was beginning to wonder.

I'm guessing they're pretty rare, given only a handful of states at the time required a right side tail light.

Went out into the freezing garage and pulled my parts catalogs. Both the January 1951 and the January 1952 catalogs list the RH part, but it's not listed in the earlier catalogs.

Looks like you need to find part # 81C-13468. I checked on partsvoice.com and no luck.

I suggest posting a want ad on the Barn and HAMB. It's obscure enough that someone out there may have it. Lastly, with today's available technology, I bet a good machine/production shop can make a replica, albeit an expensive replica.

Looks like an easy part to replicate.

A couple of pieces of 1/4" plate and a steel rod and I could make one that looked pretty damn close.

Yes. It is shown for the state of Washington!

That's it! 81C 13468. I measured the left side bracket. It's 7.7".

Thanks Ilya. That number is not in my parts books.
