Bill - that's one of the features/problems with the 1964 reprint catalog, and I assume the CD. It omits some parts listed in the original versions. My 1/52 and 1/54 editions list it, while my 64 paper copy does not. Edit - the 7.7" is shown in the old catalogs. I agree, buy it. Stu

OK, OK, OK. I bought it!

And I can thank my mother-in-law for it, as she gave me $50 for my birthday.

Unobtainium. I love it. NOSU = New Old Stock Unobtainium.

BTW, Red's only takes PayPal...

This bracket, 81C-13468 is also in my 1949 edition of the '28-'48 chassis parts book. It is listed for trucks except panel and dump (State of Washington) '40-'47 on page 207A. The LH bracket 77-13469-B has two listings, one for trucks except panel and dump '40-'47 and the other for '32 station wagon and platform '37-'40.
I need to find one of the RH brackets for my F4 also.

I can appreciate your assessment that it's not that hard to make one. And for you and several others on here, that's probably true. But it would be next to impossible for me to make this part.

Of course I can fabricate a bracket to hold my taillights in place. I already did that months ago. But I was looking for the original style bracket, and I believe this is it, so I bought one.

Well, it's certainly not cheap. But I guess that all depends on how bad you want it. I bought one.

I have working taillights on the truck now. I made the brackets and they work fine.

But I had the left side (maybe) original bracket, so I thought I should get a right side bracket. The Chassis Parts Catalog lists this part for earlier years, but the frame on my 51 is drilled for these brackets to fit. So I don't really know if it's the original style taillight bracket for a 51 flatbed, but I like the way they look.

The frames for our trucks are virtually identical to the '40-'47 trucks. Ours were lengthen slightly at the front for the bumper, everything else is the same. So, it wouldn't surprise if the taillight brackets weren't carried over also.

Joe,
I look at that bracket and my first thoughts are that I could fabricate it, no problem. I could fab it up, and it wouldn't be too bad, but, it wouldn't quite match the original on the driver's side. If I were fabbing a set then it wouldn't be an issue.
On your case I think you were right to shell out the cash and buy the correct part. It will be an original Ford part, it will perfectly match the other side, and it will bolt up right the first time. You made the right call, and the price is actually pretty reasonable.

I can't wait to see the pic of it installed

Yes, and the seller sent an email today saying they had overcharged for shipping, and had reduced the charge by over $10.

I'm also itching to get them installed. You know I'm going to add pics. And a lot of meaningless dribble to go with it.
